International Day

I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit. - Psalm 40:1-2

It's a long break for me. Popo has gone back to Singapore last Wednesday. Mommy was very busy helping Popo to doing packing before she left. On the day when Popo left, Mommy and I were very depressed at the airport. Mommy drove 4 hours to and fro San Francisco International Airport and I spoke less than 10 sentences throughout the journey. It was so sweet of Auntie Tricia and Caleb ge ge as they travelled along with us. Mommy was very touched, I also like Auntie Tricia very much. I rather held her hand than my Mommy's ;) coz she is gentler.

Mommy was very worried for Popo coz the staff at Northwest Airline was very rude. So folks, please don't trust their Meet and Assist service coz they don't help at all! Well, Mommy thanked God for His grace, Popo reached Singapore safely after 20 hours. Mommy missed her very much, wish Popo was here with us.

Popo cooked mee siam for us before she flied.

Auntie Tricia invited Popo for lunch at her house before Popo left.

Caleb ge ge's playhouse.

On the Sky train at SFO, I looked lost coz I knew Popo will be flying off soon.

Oh... after Popo left, Papa and I suffered! On the next day, Mommy gave me yogurt and milk for lunch, cereal with milk for dinner; no soup! The next day, Mommy cooked cheese and pasta for me as lunch and porridge for dinner; no soup! Today, I had mee sua for lunch and finally, I smell chicken soup but no porridge coz we were home late from the International Day at La Mesa Housing. That was a huge event, about 29 countries participated and I got to taste food from India, Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, Greece etc. However, the weather was cold, therefore, Mommy didn't allow me to run around with Caleb and Harold ge ge. Papa also worked as a volunteer in selling the tickets. God is gracious to us again by giving us some free tickets to taste the food. Thank you our heaven Father!

My best friend, Caleb ge ge.

I couldn't sleep on the first night when Popo left and tried to look for her. I thought she was playing hide-and-seek with me. My naughty Papa and Mommy teased me to look for Popo and I went around in the house searching for her. I miss her! I wish she will come and visit me again coz only she will rescue me who wouldn't scold me for not drinking milk and eating my meal. She is the kindest person to me. I even peed on the bed on the night when she left and Mommy was quite worried about this transition and put me on diaper again despite my reply, "I don't want to wear diaper." These few nights, I was finally back on track and this convinced Mommy that I can sleep without the diaper. Hooray! Popo, when are you coming here again?

Finally I was able to piece up this giant dump truck.

Auntie Tricia's hair salon, she gave me a free haircut.

Before my haircut.

After my haircut, I would like to be called "Handsome".

I even got free bubble bath with Caleb ge ge.

Playing the dough made by Auntie Tricia.

Yesterday we went farewell dinner for Uncle Stephen at Fuji Japanese Restaurant. The food was pretty nice, very big portion, even Mommy couldn't finish hers. It was so nice to see Anne mei mei, she is only 2.5 months old. She is so pretty, wish she will grow up sooner to play with me. I wish Mommy will give me a sister too, hee hee, I think this is my Mommy's wish also.

Anne mei mei, who are you looking at?

Mommy was so glad to hear from my Godma that Megan mei mei is born. How Mommy wishes she can carry and cuddle her, she especially likes the smell of newborns. Hm... think this is influenced from Godma and Auntie Michelle!

I overheard the conversation between Auntie Javis and Mommy about her working in DSO, I wonder how is Auntie Michelle doing there? Auntie Michelle and Godma, hang on there ok, we are praying for you every day.

Mommy's favourite country - Germany.

Sweet Jap aunties...

Papa is busy working...

Harold ge ge and I.

My home country.

The Netherland.

I am not afraid of the parrot!

Papa's Taiwanese's classmates.

Oh Mommy told me that God is gracious her again from a situation. Last week, she went to the post office to change address and saw some new beautiful stamps. She bought two booklets thinking that Papa has used up all old ones. However, when she reached home, she discovered there was still a full booklet of stamps. Oh dear, she panicked as the stamps were non refundable. She tried to head back to the post office withtin the next few days but couldn't find a chance until yesterday. She prayed to the Lord for wisdom in dealing this situation although it's a minor one. Guess what, she sneaked out of the house when I was napping and she was a step earlier than the car behind hers. That man in the car behind walked into the post office and saw the long queue (about 4 persons were ahead of Mommy), he turned and left. Then another guy came in and queued behind her. When it was Mommy's turn, the postman told Mommy that the stamps were non refundable, so Mommy asked if he could help to sell them to the other customer. The man who queued behind Mommy overheard the conversation and he bought over the stamps from Mommy. Mommy was so happy and she knew it was God's plan again.

Fun Fair

What profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost? - Luke 9:25

I woke up at 7am and said bye bye to Mommy, then I ran out to the living room to continue playing my Thomas train yard. However, Mommy didn't want me to stay alone in the living room and she didn't want to wake up so early, I was "invited" back to bed with her. Tyrant Mommy!!

Before I begin, I want to thank our Lord for His grace and mercy on my da bo mu. She sounded fine when Mommy talked to her and will be discharged today to rest at home. May the Lord continues to watch over her and heals her completely and quickly. Da bo mu, take good care and rest well.

I also heard that Gugu will be joining Ah gong and Ah ma for their US trip. Hooray, I miss her very much too. Hope I see them sooner. Ha ha, Mommy is going to watch her diet once Popo leaves coz Gugu said Mommy has put on weight. Gosh, I wonder can Mommy quit from eating her Rocky road ice-cream and chocolate? They are some of her spiritual boosters.

Mommy brought Popo and I to a fun fair at Ft Ord. It was so fun! We enjoyed ourselves. How we wish Papa would join us too. I miss him in all our outings. Somehow it is not complete without his presence. Papa, don't worry, you are suffering now and will enjoy later.

I got to pat the sheeps, chicken and bunnies.

Why are the bunnies running away from me?

I rode on the pony all by myself.

Watched MaryLee sang at the stage. Her voice is very tender in singing nursery rhyme.

This is what I do when Mommy disturbs my play time.

I can complete this puzzle by myself. Thanks Papa for spending his precious time playing with me every morning.

Patience patience...

He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. - 1 John 4:8

Mommy starts to dislike the broadband that Pa pa subscribes coz she can't get any internet access when Pa pa is not at home. Hm... I wonder is Pa pa trying to stop Mommy from spending too much time buying things online and wants her to spend more time teaching me. :)

Finally Mommy has sent her car for servicing today. It doesn't cost much for the servicing but well, it seems like this car needs a lot of attention and cash pouring into its engine. I wonder when will the service center sends us a clean and healthy report of it.

I sat quietly beside Mommy when she studied God's Word.

Mommy did her BSF homework today and once again found evidence that God is chastening us while we are here ("Whom the Lord loves He chastens" - Hebrews 12:6). In Genesis 32:9-12, Jacob turned to his God with a most earnest believing prayer that has in it all the elements of true intercession. One of them is Jacob's specific request to God. And in MOmmy's notes, it asks Mommy to pinpoint her prayer like Jacob in definite requests such as, "Give me control over my temper today at dinnertime when someone irritates me"; "Help me to have thirty minutes today for Bible study"; "Deliver me from harboring one depressing thought today as from a seen enemy". God is the living God. He really knows Mommy inside out as if He breathe through her skin. Thank you God, I will not irritate Mommy during dinnertime tonight.

Mommy said she is having insomnia almost nightly, Papa suggested to change her pillow. Oh, I think my lazy Mommy won't do it coz we have more than 20 pillows at home. She will only do it when she cannot tolerate being lethargic everyday.

Today Popo made some da bao for us, they don't look appetizing but they taste good.

Is this star sunglass nice? It was from Asher ge ge.

A walk at Cannery Row

The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart. - Psalm 34:18

Da bo mu, this picture is dedicated to you and wish you a speedy recovery.

Oh, a message for my da bo mu - I love you and will pray for you. Don't worry, the Lord is watching over you, always!

My Mommy changed her mind in sending her car for a service today. Instead, she brought my Po po and I to Cannery Row for a walk. The weather is super good and she doesn't want to miss it. Oh tell you a secret, she woke up at 9am today, very rare but it's true. Well, she still complains to my Pa pa that she didn't get enough sleep coz of me. Ai... complain queen!

Look, the sky is clear.

Po po enjoys her walk too.

Run Forest run!

Forgot to take photo for Po po the last time we came, this is a retake.

I like caboose very much.

Absence on Tuesday

Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing. - Psalm 100:2

Sitting my car waiting for my Mommy to wake up.

Oh, I miss my blogging on Tuesday coz my Mommy woke up at 10am. Tsk tsk, she is getting up later than late, how should I let her know that she is going too far. Well, I know what is her excuse, she is having insomnia at night and when it's time for her to fall asleep at 4am, I will wake her up for BM. I praise the Lord that she has one understanding and sweet mother, who allows her to wake up late in the morning and even pushes her to nap with me in the afternoon. Po po, you are the best mother in the world.

Pa pa bought me this train yesterday, it sounds like the real train moving!

One good news, I heard from my Mommy that my Ah Gong, Ah Ma, Marcus and Nicholas ge ge might be coming to visit us during the June holiday. Hooray, can't wait to see them especially Marcus ge ge. My parents keep reminding me that I am so much like him, in everything that I do. Therefore, I want to show her that Marcus ge ge and I are alike and we are genius and gifted! So don't worry too much Mommy!

Hi Fel, yeah, thanks to your blog, it motivates me to restart this blog that I have created more than half a year ago. You are getting prettier and still chubby. My Mommy said you are really very sweet, did your Mommy curled your hair for you? :) My Mommy decided to keep my hair long coz of the cold weather here. Oh btw, thanks for the high profile task that your Mommy wrote in the blog, it made her laugh till she dropped from the chair. She said only Auntie Angeline will do such funny stuff and Pa pa also glad that he is not in the office now coz he sat very near to the pantry previously. Hee hee hee. They are so mean!

Do remember to update me your pictures from your trip to Taiwan and let me know how is your trip. I have never been there and I don't think my parents will bring me there when I go back. They can't save as much as your Mommy! ;) Enjoy your trip and I will watch for your blog.

Waiting for my rock melon to be cut.

Monday with plenty of sun shine

The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. - Genesis 2:8

I woke up at 7am. Don't ask me why I keep waking up at this time. It started after daylight saving, maybe we should turn the clock forward and live with it so I won't feel so guilty when I wake my Mommy up for BM. Sometimes I have to admit that she is quite smart. Yes, Papa and Popo were not awake this morning but I thought a jump on them will help. My Mommy pulled me back and bribed me with her BM. It worked! (Sorry folks, I know that is my weakness.) I continued to stick around her until 8am when Papa's alarm clock rang. Great! I struggled out of bed and rushed out after Papa. Popo woke up shortly after us. My dear Mommy went back to bed when she knew Popo has waken and slept till the whole bedroom was filled up sunshine. Can you imagine that? No, my Mommy always said don't envy her coz it doesn't usually happen, she wants to make use of this time when Popo is around. Btw, Popo is leaving next week, therefore, Mommy reckons that she will not be able to sleep late once Popo leaves. Hm... I don't think she will stick to my schedule then (she always wins our battles), I might just need to sit on her head every morning till she gets up.

I missed the chance to go to the beach today with all the aunties and geges coz Popo is not interested. She said she doesn't like the strong breeze and also can't take the sun shine in mid afternoon. Oh, how can they deprive my time that I want to spend with my friends and waste it on their favourite pasttime. Well well, 2 against 1, moreover, I can't drive, what can I do? You won, Mommy! We went Costco to get some fish and Albertson to get some meat.

On our way home, I was almost falling asleep in my carseat when Mommy suddenly exclaimed, "Balls, Hengyue, look at that ball, another red ball." I responded to her exaggeration and joined her pointing at the balls. However, I really couldn't stay awake. My eyelids were almost closed when my mother shouted, "Bus, Hengyue, look at the bus." Ok, I started rolling my hands and sang The Wheel on the Bus for her. I was really tired, my eyes were almost shutting when my mother said, "Hengyue, look at the sea, I saw some sailboats, how many did you see?" My eyes were wide opened, glanced over the ocean and told her I saw 2 sailboats. Alright, that was the last verge, I can't tolerate anymore. My eyes were tightly shut till I reached home. I couldn't hear what my Mommy and Popo said anymore. Ha ha ha, Mommy, You are defeated this time. You really can't do much to me when your hands are on the steering wheels and your tricks don't work every time. ;)

Easter Sunday

O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? - Romans 7:24

Today is the Lord's Day, my church was pretty crowded. I cried again when Mommy wanted to leave me at the nursery. However, after Mommy showed me that Caleb ge ge, Harold ge ge and Clarice jie jie were in there, I decided to join them. I was fine after Mommy left. I even did some coloring on a Easter card for Jesus. Mommy also praised me when she came to pick me up.

After dinner, we went to the beach to play bubbles. It was chilling in the evening, my Mommy was shivering as she didn't put on thick jacket. She thought she can withstand the breeze at the beach. Hello Mommy, it was 10 deg with wind chill, please don't be a hero ok. Oh, I like to go the beach, it's only 3 mins walk from our apartment. My parents brought me there twice to make sand castles, I will ask them to bring me there more often in Summer.

Po po is a strong woman!

Oh, my dear elder uncle, is the hat I am wearing yours? Mommy said she can't remember where she got it but Pa pa said it belongs to you. Hee, anyway, it is now mine! Thanks :)

A lot of bubbles blew by the wind.

I got to do some mowing but where is the grass?

A day before Easter

And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God - Colossians 1:10

I woke up early at 7am, gosh, my Pa pa and Mommy refused to wake up no matter how hard I stepped on them. It's so great that Po po was around, she jumped up immediately when I pulled her. She even made breakfast for me and when I tried to step on my parents for few more times, I still couldn't get them on their feet. Why were they so lazy?

I slept like my parents too...

Mommy let me choose between using my hand or foot to paint this morning. I told her I want to use my foot. It was so fun to do foot painting, but we only played for a while. This was the first time we tried, so Mommy said she will allow me to play longer the next time.

Mommy recycled some boxes and toilet rolls to make me the cardboard Thomas the train engine. It's very fragile, Mommy said must handle with care!

Papa had invited Po po to visit his school today, a fine weather to do some running in the field. I saw a few of my favourite private planes flying over us.

Po po, I know where is USA in the world map already, but what is USA?

Po po got to see her Sakura in Monterey.

Pa pa and me.

Where is our Singapore flag?

Quenching my thirst.
