Absence from school

I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger. - John 6:35

It's a hectic week for my parents, I am infected with some viruses in school on Tuesday and started having high fever on Wednesday morning. I shook my Mommy hard at 6am in the morning telling her that "I am hot hot!". Mommy got a shock when she put her forehead to mine. My temperature was at 39 deg and she fed me some multisymptom medicine to bring down the fever. The fever went down to 37.5 and I looked well, so Mommy brought me to Auntie Kemila's house to play with Janna and Bing Bing. Who knows my fever came back at night and it went up to 39.5 again. Papa and Mama sponged me with ice water until it came down at 38. They were too tired to continue sponging me, therefore, they put me to sleep after inserting the fever suppressant.

Mama woke up occasionally to monitor my temperature but guess she was too tired in the early morning that she missed measuring me. She was panicked when she found that my temperature went up to 40.5 yesterday morning. Immediately, my calm Papa gave me a cold shower/bath, I struggled and cried until Mama also came into the bathtub to join me. She then realised it was really chilly to have a cold bath at 7am in the morning. I hate going into the bathtub now. It's scary as I don't know if they are giving me the cold or warm water. However, my temperature dropped till 37.5 in the day but it went up and down. Mommy couldn't even attend her BSF class and had to stay at home to put me to bed early. Mommy dressed me light last night when she sent me to bed, with a short-sleeved shirt and pants (no heater, no socks). My temperature still went up to 39.5 again. My folks started the sponge bath at midnight. Mama was so exhausted that she nearly couldn't continue the process and suggested to send me to ER. I guess it's because my folks are busying packing and selling our stuff that they have emptied their energy tank in the day.

Did I tell you that my Mama is very pleased with my perseverance and patience? I did not cry when they told me that a sponged bath is way better than a cold water shower. I even allowed them to sponge my thighs and armpits with my clothes off. I take my medicine without hesitation and drink lots of water upon request. Oh, since I did not protest and wail, Papa gave me toys to reward me too. I got a Thomas and Percy Sodor Engine pull back. I think Papa also promised to open James for me today. Pray hard that my fever will subside and Mama will bring me to Dennis The Menace playground when I am fully recovered.
